What’s Covered Under Chola Accident Protection Plan?

The plan offers the following coverage to its insured members:

  • Accidental Death: Accidents may, in sad circumstances, result in the demise of the insured or the policyholder. In this circumstance, the nominee named by the insured in the policy is given the compensation or insurance claim.
  • Permanent Disability: Permanent disabilities are those that result from accidents, either directly or indirectly, and last for at least 12 months after the event. The plan offers coverage for the same.
  • Temporary Disability: The Chola Accident Protection Policy also covers temporary disabilities that are defined as such by a doctor or other healthcare professional and continue for less than 12 months.
  • Hospitalization Expenses: Accident-related hospitalization incurs a significant hospital charge. If the injury was sustained within seven days of the accident and required at least a 24-hour hospital stay, these costs may be covered by Chola Accident Protection Insurance.

What’s Not Covered Under Chola Accident Protection Plan?

Like other insurance plans, Chola Accident Protection Plan has a set of exclusions. Some of them are listed below:

  • Intentional Injury: Any injury that is not accidental in nature and is brought on with the full knowledge and consciousness of the sufferer or the insured is not covered by the personal accident policy. This covers any self-inflicted harm, any suicide attempts, and any threats made while sane or insane.
  • Uncontrollable Acts: The plan does not cover some acts of violence, including war, invasion, an act of a foreign enemy, civil war, rebellion, hostilities, revolution, insurrection, mutiny, military or usurped power, seizure, capture, and arrests.
  • Military Activities: Military activities include any involvement in military, naval, or air force operations, including training exercises, war games, and actual combat with adversaries abroad or at home. The policy does not provide coverage for any injuries sustained during such actions.
  • Royal Members: The plan does not cover any accidents brought on by the violent behavior, restraints, or detention of any monarchs, princes, or individuals of whatever nation, condition, or quality.
  • Lack Of Sanity: The plan’s cover protection cannot be used if the policyholder sustains any injuries and is deemed insane medically or psychologically.
  • Injuries Due To Intoxicating Substances: Any injuries sustained by the insured when they are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other substances are not covered by the insurance. The only exception is if a doctor has prescribed the specific medicine that is having the effect.
  • Invalid License: The policy does not provide coverage for injuries sustained while the policyholder or insured is operating a vehicle without a valid license.

How To Register A Claim For Chola Accident Protection Plan?

One Can file two types of claim requests against the policy. They are discussed below:

CASHLESS CLAIM PROCEDURE

  1. Inform the hospital administration that the individual admitted is a policyholder with Chola Accident Protection Plan.
  1. Submit your insurance document along with valid ID proof for verification purposes.
  1. Submit the pre-authorization form to the Chola MS.
  1. Now the insurance company will assess and evaluate the documents submitted at the hospital and begin the processing of the claim procedure.
  1. The insurance company may send a doctor for the authorization process at the hospital.
  1. In case everything is up to the mark and the insured is eligible for the claim, the company will directly settle the bills with the hospital.

REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM PROCEDURE

  1. Get treatment and pay the hospital bills on time.
  1. Once all bills are paid, submit all the relevant documents to the company within 30 days from the discharge date. You can submit them through the official website of the company, by calling 1800 208 5544, or by mailing them to customercare@cholams.murugappa.com.
  1. After verifying all the documents submitted, the company will reimburse the amount to the registered bank account of the insured member.
