Mos-Bite Insurance plan is a unique policy that safeguards the insured person from vector-borne diseases as it pays a lump sum amount on the diagnosis of such diseases and if the insured person gets hospitalized for a continuous period of 48 hours due to any of the following seven diseases – 1) Dengue fever 2) Malaria 3) Lymphatic Filariasis 4) Kala-azar 5) Chikungunya 6) Japanese Encephalitis 7) Zika Virus.

Vector-borne Diseases – This policy covers a wide array of vector-borne diseases such as Dengue, Zike Virus, Chikungunya, Malaria, Lymphatic Filariasis, Kala-azar, and Japanese Encephalitis.
Lump sum payment– The policy offers a lump sum amount if the insured person is diagnosed with any of the 7 vector-borne diseases and for that he/she needs hospitalization for more than 48 hours.
No pre-policy check-up – To avail of this policy, no medical check-up is required prior to the inception of the policy.
Wide Protection – Under this plan, you can also cover the family members including spouses, children, brothers, sisters, parents, and parents-in-law.

What’s not covered under the Mos-Bite Insurance Plan?
There are certain things and conditions that are not covered under a Mos-bite insurance plan. Such mentions are as follows.
Non-authorized medical practitioner – If any of the seven mentioned vector-borne diseases are diagnosed by a non-medical practitioner or an unauthorized or unregistered practitioner, that is not accepted by the policy.
Self-medications – If the insured person takes medicines without the permission of an authorized medical practitioner and if any complications arising out of that, then it will fall under the exclusion category of the policy.
Experimental treatment – Any kind of unproven or experimental treatment is not accepted by the policy.
Already diagnosed claim – At the time of the purchase of the policy, if the insured was already diagnosed and had not fully recovered from any of the seven listed vector-borne diseases, any claim in that situation will not be accepted by the policy.
Self-inflicted injury – Any self-inflicted injury, willful act of self-harm, suicide attempt will not be covered by the Mos-bite insurance plan.
Negligence – Any claim where the insured person has delayed the medical treatments or has shown negligence, will not be accepted.
Consequential loss – Any consequential loss or indirect loss or expenses arising out of or related to any insured event will not be covered.
Working on the Mos-Bite Insurance
At first, you need to put your name and phone number on the official website of the plan to see the different prices of the policy. After that, fill in the form with required details such as the number of members to be insured, their details, sum insured and etc. after providing all necessary details, click on the ‘Calculate Premium’ option. On the basis of your given data, the payable premium amount will be shown to you.

How to Get of a Mos-Bite Insurance Policy?
To avail of a Mos-bite insurance plan, you can opt for both the offline and online methods according to your convenience.
Online Process:
If you are comfortable with the online process, you can easily buy the policy from Probus Insurance. For that, follow the below-mentioned steps.
Go to the official website of Probus Insurance and under the ‘Products’ tab go for the Miscellaneous Insurance category.
Select the ‘Mos-Bite’ option.
Put the necessary information such as the proposer’s gender and pin code and click on the ‘Continue’ tab.
In the next form provide the required details and click on the ‘Get Plan’ option.
The available plan(s) will be reflected on the screen.
Select the convenient one and pay the premium.
Upon successful payment, the policy document will be sent to your registered email ID or mobile number.
Offline Process:
If you want to buy a Mos-bite insurance policy offline, you can visit the nearest branch of the desired company and their experts will guide you through the process seamlessly. You can also contact one of the registered and licensed agents of the company and they will help you out with the buying process. Apart from these, you can also call on the contact number of the company to get assistance for the buying process of the Mos-bite insurance plan.
What’s the claim process for the Mos-Bite Insurance Plan?
You can avail of both the cashless and reimbursement claim settlement procedures for the Mos-bite insurance policy.
Cashless Procedure:
To avail of a hazardless cashless claim process, you can follow the below-mentioned general steps.
To avail of the cashless facility, you need to get admitted to a network hospital of the company.
For emergency hospitalization, intimate the insurer as soon as the occurrence of an incident. For planned hospitalization, inform the insurer about the same at least 3 days prior to the hospitalization.
Submit the duly filled and signed pre-authorization form to the hospital’s insurance or TPA desk to initiate the claim request.
The company will assess and evaluate your claim request. If no discrepancy is found, the claim amount will be settled. For a cashless facility, the claim amount will be settled with the hospital directly.
If your cashless claim is not approved, you can also apply for the reimbursement claim process after the discharge from the hospital.
Reimbursement Procedure:
Follow the below-mentioned general steps for reimbursement claim settlement.
For reimbursement claim settlement, you can get the medical treatments in a non-network hospital of your choice.
For emergency hospitalization, intimate the insurer as soon as the occurrence of an incident. For planned hospitalization, inform the insurer about the same at least 3 days prior to the hospitalization.
Submit the duly filled and signed claim form along with all the required documents such as doctor’s reports, pharmacy bills, diagnostic reports, hospital bills and etc. after the discharge from the hospital.
Do not produce any misleading information and cooperate with the insurer.
After the evaluation on the behalf of the company, if no disparity is found, the claim will be approved. And, the claim amount will be sent to your registered bank account.
