Benefits Of Royal Sundaram Lifeline Plan

Reload of the sum insured – You can reload your sum insured at no extra cost and the limit for it is up to the base sum insured. Also, you can double your sum insured in 5 claim-free years with a no claim bonus (NCB).
Emergency Domestic Evacuation – If your treating doctor advises you, then the expenses of bed to bed emergency domestic evacuation are covered by the policy. For Supreme Plan, the limit is up to Rs. 1 lakh, and for Elite Plan, it is up to Rs. 3 lakhs. The Classic Plan does not offer this coverage.
Worldwide Emergency Hospitalization – Only the Elite variant of this plan offers you this coverage. But it excludes US and Canada. The limit is 50% of the Base Sum Insured up to a maximum limit of Rs. 20 lakhs, with a Deductible of $1,000 per hospitalization.
International Treatment abroad for specified 11 critical illnesses – If you feel that you need international treatment for the pre-specified critical illness, you can easily avail of that with the Elite variant of this plan. But this excludes the US and Canada. It covers up to Sum Insured, and the return airfare is covered up to Rs. 3 lakhs.
Second Opinion for 11 specified Critical Illness – This plan allows you to have a second opinion for the pre-defined 11 critical illnesses. This facility is available once during the policy year.
Refresh of Sum Insured – This is an optional benefit and only available with the Supreme Plus and Elite Plus variants. With this facility, you can refresh your sum insured once in a lifetime, for the same illness.
Exclusions of Royal Sundaram Lifeline Plan
- The expenses that are incurred to you due to investigation and evaluation, will not be compensated by the policy.
- Rest cure, rehabilitation, and respite care are permanently excluded from the policy.
- Any medical treatment related to obesity or weight control will fall under the category of exclusions.
- If you take part in any hazardous activities or adventurous sports such as hiking, mountaineering, para-gliding, scuba diving, etc. and if you get injuries from this, the policy will not take any responsibility for that.
- Treatments related to gender change, cosmetic surgery, and plastic surgery are excluded from the policy.
- If you avail of this policy from any of the excluded providers, then the company will not take any responsibility for that.
- If any injury or treatments are incurred due to the consumption of drugs, alcohol, or any other intoxicating substances, the policy will not reimburse the expenses of that.
- If you receive treatments in health hydros, nature cure clinics, spas, or any other similar clinics, it will fall under the category of exclusions.
- The cost of dietary supplements or substances that can be purchased without any prescription such as vitamins, minerals, organic substances, etc. will not be compensated by the policy.
- Self-inflicted injuries, suicide, or suicidal attempts are excluded from the policy.
- Sexual problems, sexually transmitted diseases, sleep disorders, treatment of alopecia, etc. also fall under exclusions.
