  1. Hospital Cash: For each completed day of hospitalization, the Company will pay a cash benefit of Rs 1000/-, provided that the hospitalization occurs within 30 days of the accident date. The benefit is only available for a maximum of 15 days per occurrence and 60 days per policy period. This benefit is available for each year that the policy term exceeds one year. This benefit cannot be added to or carried over to the following calendar year. In addition to the insured sum, this amount is due. Home Convalescence: If the attending physician recommends it, the company will pay Rs 500 for each completed day, up to a maximum of 15 days per occurrence and 60 days per policy period, towards the cost of hiring one attendant at home right away after hospital discharge.   1. Free Look: The insured may review the terms and conditions of the policy for a free look period of 15 days following the date of receipt of the policy. If the insured is dissatisfied with the terms and conditions, the insured may request cancellation of the policy. In this case, the company will grant a refund of the premium paid after deducting the costs of any pre-acceptance medical screening, stamp duty fees, and the proportionate risk premium for the relevant period, provided no claims have been filed up to the time of cancellation.
  1. Cumulative Bonus: For each year that has been completed, an additional 5% cumulative bonus accrues to the insured person, up to a maximum of 50%. The portion of the sum insured that is renewed continuously without a break is eligible for the cumulative bonus. If the policy is renewed within 30 days, the cumulative bonus will not be forfeited.
  1. Coverage for winter sports: This extension may be given for the time frame during which the insured person plans to engage in such sports.
  1. Medical Expenses Extension: Up to a maximum of Rs. 5,00,000/- per policy period, or 25% of the valid claim, 10% of the sum insured, or actuals, whichever is less. In addition to the insured sum, this amount is due.
  1. Policy Cancellation: The Company may revoke this policy for any of the following reasons: misrepresentation, fraud, moral hazard, failure to disclose a material fact disclosed in the claim form at the time of the claim, or failure of the insured to cooperate. In such a case, the Company shall give the insured 30 days’ notice by registered letter at the insured’s last known address, and no premium refund will be given.

Exclusions Under Star Accident Care Individual Insurance Policy

Any payment made in the event that there are multiple claims made under the policy during a single insurance period that would cause the company’s maximum liability for that period to exceed the capital sum insured payable under this policy, with the exception of claims for permanent total disability, for which the payment is equal to 150% of the sum insured. Payments made under the Medical Expenses Extension, Hospital Cash, Home Convalescence, Educational Grant, Ambulance Charges/Transportation of Mortal Remains, Travel Expenses of One Relative, Expenses for Vehicle and/or Residence Modification, Purchase of Blood, and Transportation of Imported Medicine are not covered by this exclusion.
  1. Any claim for things that happened before the cover started or otherwise outside the insurance period.
  1. Any pre-existing injuries or illnesses.
  1. Any claim for the insured person’s death or disability as a result of (a) wilful self-harm, suicide, or attempted suicide; (b) while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs; or (c) self-endangerment, unless done so in self-defense or to save a life.
  1. Without flying as a fare-paying passenger on a vehicle that has a valid passenger transport licence, the insured person is not engaging in air travel. Air Travel is defined as being in, on, or boarding an aircraft for the purpose of flying in it or egressing from it for the purposes of this exclusion.
  1. Involvement in riots, seizure or nationalisation of property, or requisition, destruction, or damage to property by or at the direction of any local or national government.
  1. any claim resulting from engaging in sports insofar as doing so involves training or competing against professional or semi-professional athletes.
